Drainage (Wastewater Stormwater)

System Name

Define a Name for your system to easily identify it within the project.

Fluid

Specify the type of Fluid running through the system, such as sewage.

The fluid type has no impact on the sizing calculations.

Temperature

Set the default Temperature for the fluid.

This has no impact on the calculations.

Color

Assign a Color to the system for clear visual identification within the design layout.

Vent Color

Assign a Color to the system for clear visual identification within the design layout.

Default Pipe Height

Define the Default Height of pipes relating to the floor level.

This will make drawing the system easier, as the pipe will default to your preferred height rather than you needing to enter it each time.

Stacks (Downpipes), Pipes, Vents

Define the specific parameters for each pipe segment type:

  • Stacks (Downpipes): Vertical sections that connect floors or levels.

  • Pipes: Horizontal pipes.

  • Vents: Vent pipes on wastewater/sewage systems.

The reason for these settings is that you can draw your layout using these different options.

Materials

Select the material for the pipes in the system, such as PVC, HDPE, Steel, etc.

Horizontal Pipe Sizing

Define the pipe sizes and fall grade required for horizontal pipes using a range of minimum and maximum flow rates or units.

The appropriate pipe size will be chosen from this table based on the number fixtures/nodes that are connected.

Vent Sizing

Define the pipe sizes and fall grade required for vent pipes using a range of minimum and maximum flow rates or units.

The appropriate size will be chosen from this table based on the number fixtures/nodes that are connected and require venting.

Max. Unvented Length

For each pipe size, define the longest allowable length for unvented pipes before a vent is required.

Warnings in the Results mode will appear if this limit is exceeded, prompting you to add a vent.

Max. Unvented Capacity

Specify the maximum number of WCs that can connect to unvented pipes.

Warnings in the Results mode will appear if this limit is exceeded, prompting you to add a vent.

Diminishing Stack Size:

Indicate whether the stack size should reduce at each segment based on load (Yes) or remain consistent throughout (No).

Stack (Downpipe ) Pipe Sizing:

Define the pipe sizes for vertical pipes relating to a range of minimum and maximum flow rates or units.

The appropriate pipe size will be chosen from this table based on the number fixtures/nodes that are connected.

Warnings in the Results mode will appear if the Max. Discharge Units (amount of fixture units discharges on a single level) limit is exceeded.

Dedicated Vent

Choose Yes to include a dedicated vent alongside the stack for additional airflow, or No to omit it.

Stack Vent Sizing

Define the pipe sizes required for vent pipes based on the range of minimum and maximum flow rates or units.

The appropriate size will be chosen from this table based on the number fixtures/nodes that are connected and require venting.
