Plant

Overview

Review equipment calculations to ensure system efficiency and meet design requirements. Access and adjust these values in the equipment's properties.

Pressure Drop

Review and adjust the pressure drop value, which represents the pressure loss due to flow resistance, in the equipment's properties. This value may not be editable if derived from the component catalog.

Heating and Cooling Load

The Total Heating/Cooling Load (Heating Rating/Chilled Rating) sums the connected emitters' loads and any pipe heat load if that option is enabled. Verify this value in the Outlets tab of the equipment properties. Also within the Outlets tab, check the emitter details and connections to ensure accurate load calculations.

System Volume

The Total System Volume (TSV) represents the total water volume in the system, including pipes, equipment, and emitters. It is calculated as the sum of all downstream component volumes.

Find the Total Pipe Volume (TPiV) in the Technical tab. TPiV is calculated using the following formula: TPiV = Ο€ Γ— (Internal Diameter Γ· 2)Β² Γ— Length. Check the pipe properties (diameter and length) for accuracy.

Locate the Total Plant Volume (TPV), the cumulative volume of all connected downstream equipment, within the Technical tab under Inlets in the plant/equipment properties. The Total Emitter Volume (TEV), representing all downstream emitters, can be found in the Technical tab of the emitters’ properties.

Index Circuit Length

The index circuit is the flow path with the highest pressure drop. Use the "Index Circuit Path" result filter to visually inspect this path.

Gas Requirements

Find and adjust the Gas Demand, the required amount of gas, and Gas Pressure in the Inlets tab of the equipment properties.
