Warnings

Warnings appear as yellow boxes in the design, indicating potential issues that may impact system performance, though they don’t prevent calculations from running.

These alerts help you identify and address issues to optimize your design.

To Review Warnings:

Open the Warnings dropdown to view warnings organized by level.

To Hide Warnings:

Use the Display Warnings checkbox to show or hide all warnings in your layout.

To hide individual warnings, click the Eye icon next to any warning that doesn’t need immediate attention.

General

Step-by-step
  1. Zoom in anywhere on the drawing.

  2. Click on the warning in the Warnings dropdown.

    This will take you directly to the part of your design with the warning.

  3. Review the guidance under the Information (i) icon next to the warning to see the issue description and suggested fixes.

  4. Make the necessary adjustments in the Design mode.

  5. Return to Results mode to confirm the warning has been cleared.

Warning: Maximum Pressure Exceeded at Node

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Locate the node where the warning appears.

  • Place a PRV before the node to lower the pressure to acceptable levels.

  • Reduce the pressure at the pump if it’s set too high.

  • Update the inlet pressure settings for the node if needed.

  • Ensure the flow source and floor heights are correctly set, as incorrect inputs may lead to high pressure.



Warning: Maximum Pressure Exceeded

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Find the section where maximum pressure exceeds the limit.

  • Place pressure-reducing valves (PRVs) in the design at key points to reduce pressure.

  • Adjust the pump’s pressure output if it’s too high.

  • Double-check floor heights and flow source details to ensure accuracy.



Warning: Safe Working Pressure Exceeded for Pipe

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Select a pipe material that supports higher pressure from Settings > Systems (you can view their maximum safe working pressure in the Catalog) .

  • Place PRVs in the system to reduce pressure before it exceeds safe limits.

  • Decrease the pump output to reduce pressure in pipes.

  • Ensure floor heights and flow source settings are correct to avoid pressure miscalculations.


Warning: Max Flow Rate Exceeded

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Split the flow load by adding extra mixing valves to share the flow rate.

  • Ensure that connected fixtures and nodes have correct flow values to avoid overloading.


Warning: Unvented Drain Exceeds Max WC Capacity

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Add a vent on the unvented section to handle additional WC capacity.

  • Reorganize the pipework to include a vented connection closer to the WC fixtures.

  • In Settings > Systems, increase the max number of WCs allowed per unvented pipe if applicable.


Warning: Max Unvented Length Exceeded

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Insert a vent near the fixture to reduce the unvented length.

  • Reroute the pipe closer to a vented drain to avoid exceeding the max unvented length.

  • Adjust the max unvented length in Settings > Flow Systems if needed.


Warning: Max Fixtures Per Level Exceeded

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Split fixtures across different stacks or levels to decrease load on a single stack.

  • Increase the max allowance of fixtures per level in Settings > Systems if necessary.


Warning: Pressure Overload

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Place PRVs at key points to reduce the pressure.

  • Adjust pump settings to reduce pressure across the system.

  • Modify the inlet pressure settings for fixtures experiencing pressure overload.

  • Verify floor heights and flow source inputs to ensure accuracy.


Warning: Connect the Fixture to a Flow System

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Connect the fixture to the correct flow system pipe.

  • In the fixture’s properties, enable Allow Other Systems to Connect if needed.

    • If updating multiple fixtures, use the Select Similar option for bulk changes.


Warning: Flow System Not Connected to Plant

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Draw pipes to connect the flow system to the plant.

    • Sometimes it looks like its connected, but the pipe stops just short of where it needs to 

  • In the plant properties, set the appropriate flow systems for inlet and outlet.

  • If the plant doesn’t require a connection, you can choose to hide this warning.


Warning: Update Flow System Settings

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Go to Settings > Systems to modify the pipe sizing table.

  • Minimize the connected load on the pipe to match current system settings.


Warning: Loop in Pipe System Detected

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Locate the loop in your pipe layout.

  • Remove or simplify the loop to eliminate redundancy and ensure a single directional flow.


Warning: Invalid Loop

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Examine pipe connections to identify the loop.

  • Alter the layout to remove the loop and establish a linear path.


Warning: Change the Peak Flow Rate Calculation Method

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Go to Settings > Calculations and select a different flow rate calculation method.

  • Minimize loading units to ensure they stay within the current calculation method's capacity.


Warning: No Suitable Pipe Size

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • In Settings > Flow Systems, select a new pipe material that supports higher flow.

  • Adjust the maximum velocity setting to allow higher flow rates.

  • Lower the flow rate connected to the pipe if possible.


Warning: Pressure at Upstream Source Needs Higher Than Downstream

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Adjust the pressure at the upstream regulator.

  • Lower the downstream pressure to balance the system.


Warning: Extrapolated

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Update the method in Settings > Calculations to fit within limits.

  • Decrease the number of connected units to avoid extrapolation.


Warning: Valve in Wrong Direction

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Swap the inlet and outlet connections for proper flow direction.


Warning: Directed Valve Forbidden Here

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Take out any directed valves on the recirculating system and relocate them to the primary flow system.


Warning: Contact Southland Filtration for Advice

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Contact 1800 656 771 for site-specific design and configuration advice.

  • Hide this warning if the RO system sizing is confirmed as correct.


Warning: PRVs Are Forbidden Here

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Place pressure reducing valves (PRVs) on the cold water system or on branch dead legs, avoiding the recirculating system.


Warning: Missing Balancing Valve for Return

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Insert a balancing valve in each hot water loop/circuit from the Valve dropdown.


Warning: Missing Lockshield Valve for Return

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Select a lockshield valve from the Valve dropdown and add one to each heating/chilled water loop.


Warning: Not Enough Pressure

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Include a pump to boost system pressure.

  • Change minimum pipe size and max velocity in Systems if required.


Warning: Target Pressure Is Less Than Half of PRV Inlet Pressure

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Install additional PRVs in series to gradually reduce pressure.

  • Reduce pump pressure if possible.


Warning: Overridden Pipe Diameter Insufficient

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Change the pipe diameter to meet vent size requirements.


Warning: Contact Rheem for Advice

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Consult Rheem for a product specification update if the hot water demand exceeds system limits.


Warning: Pipe Not Connected to Flow Source

  • Follow the pipe from the warning area to connect it to a flow source.


Warning: Pipe Higher Than Floor Level

  • Lower the pipe height or increase the floor height of the level above.


Warning: Not Connected to Flow System

  • Draw a connecting pipe from the node or appliance to the appropriate system.


Warning: Add Flow Source to System

  • Add a flow source to the drainage system.

Warning: Exceeds Maximum Length for Unvented Pipe

  • Place a vent or vented pipe closer to the fixture to reduce unvented length.

  • Reconfigure pipe routing to meet the maximum length requirements.


Warning: Missing Lockshield Valve for Return

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Place a lockshield valve on each return loop in mechanical (heating/chilled) systems where needed.


Warning: Invalid Loop Detected

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Ensure the loop configuration is valid by eliminating unnecessary connections or cross-links.


Warning: Heat Pump Pressure Exceeded

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Choose a heat pump that can handle the increased pressure.

  • Separate high-pressure and low-pressure systems with hydraulic separation.

  • Slightly lower the pressure drop per meter to bring it within limits.


Warning: Missing Flow Source

  • Connect a flow source to the system to enable calculations and ensure proper functionality.


Warning: Too Many Diverter Valves

  • Ensure only one diverter valve is used in reverse return systems or non-series-parallel layouts.

  • Choose a radiator model that meets or exceeds the required heat output.


Warning: No Suitable Manifold Model for Underfloor Heating

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Choose a manifold model compatible with the number of loop outlets in the design.

 

Warning: Maximum Flow Rate Exceeded for Plant

To resolve this warning, try a combination of the following:

  • Adjust the design to reduce the flow rate to the plant.

  • Upgrade to a model that supports the higher flow rate if necessary.
