Overview
Set heating and chilled ratings for emitters to ensure accurate flow rate calculations and optimal thermal performance in each room. These ratings represent the emitter's heating and cooling output.
How it works:
Heating Rating: Represents the emitterโs heat output.
Chilled Rating: Represents the emitterโs cooling output.
These ratings are used to calculate the required flow rates and overall system performance, in conjunction with the delta T specified in the equipment supplying these emitters.
Values are completed in the Technical tab of the emitterโs properties.
Note: For some emitters (e.g., radiators), these may be informed by the emitterโs dimensions and type (e.g., a Type 11 radiator).
Setting Emitter Ratings
Automatic Calculation
Ratings can be automatically calculated based on the roomโs heat or cooling load, assuming heat load calculations are performed in h2x, and the room is associated with that emitter i.e. its placed in that room and/or you have specifically โAssociatedโ it in the Technical tab (for AHU, FCU, and Manifolds only).
If the roomโs load changes, the associated heat load calculations will update too.
These ratings can be overridden to account for unique system or room conditions.
Manual Entry
You can manually enter ratings in the Technical tab for precise control or to use specific manufacturer data. Manual entry overrides automated calculations.
Verification and Adjustment
Reviewing and editing heating/chilled ratings:
Navigate to the Technical tab in the emitterโs properties.
Check if the value aligns with the roomโs calculated load or specific requirements.
For automated values, verify they match the roomโs conditions and heat load calculations.
Ensure the emitterโs type and dimensions (e.g., radiator type) are correct, as these directly impact the rating.
The best place to review this information in one central location is the PDF schedules or report exports, where ratings for all emitters are consolidated.
