Doors

How to Add a Door

Step-by-step
  1. Select Door Type:

Click the Doors button in the toolbar and choose between:

    - Single Door

    - Bi-folding Door

(Both doors function the same way)

  2. Ensure Walls are Drawn:

Doors must be placed on walls.

If no walls are present, you’ll receive a warning: β€œDoors can only be placed on rooms”

  3. Position the Door:

Move the cursor near a wall. When the rectangle aligns with the wall, it will turn into a door symbol with dimension guides to assist placement.

Left-click to place the door in the desired location.

  4. Finalize Placement:

To place additional doors, repeat the process.

To stop placing doors, click Done in the top left or press Escape on your keyboard.

Door Properties

When you click on a placed door, you can adjust the following properties in the Properties panel:

  • Name: Identifier for the door.

  • Color: For visual clarity in the design workspace.

  • Length and Height: Used in heat load calculations to determine the area of the door.

  • Door Material: This value, taken from the Heat Load settings, is critical for heat load calculations.

    • The material determines the U-value.

  • U-Value: This value, taken from the Heat Load settings, represents thermal conductivity, typically linked to the door material.

  • External Temperature: This value, taken from the Heat Load settings, is factored into the heat load calculation if the door is on an external wall.

  • Door Type: Toggle between Single Door and Bifolding Door to adjust the design as needed.
