Materials

For accurate calculations, customize Material properties and assign them to elements in your heat load design.

Custom Material

To add a new material, follow these steps:

Step-by-step
  1. Click on Add New Custom Material

  2. Enter a Name, Type (e.g., wall, door, window), and Thermal Resistance

  3. They will be able to be selected in the Material Assignments dropdown.

These materials can be edited anytime and will update your design instantly.

Assign Materials

Choose the default materials for the project, with options to customize colors.

Here’s how each element is used in calculations:

Material

Description

External Wall

Separates the interior from the outdoor environment.

Internal Wall

Divides rooms within the building.

Party Wall

Used when there is an adjacent, non-external space, like a neighboring building.

Window

Located on external walls.

External Door

Located on external walls.

Internal Door

Located on internal walls.

Roof

The upper boundary of the building, exposed to outdoor conditions.

Floor

The surface of each level.

Note you can override these on specific elements during the heat load design.

Default Dimensions

Set default sizes for various components.

Set the following dimensions:

Window Height

Vertical size of windows.

Velux Window Width

Width of roof windows.

Velux Window Length

Length of roof windows.

Room Height

Height of rooms.

Single Door Width

Width of single doors.

Bi-folding Door Width

Width of bi-folding doors.

Door Height

Height of all doors.

Internal Wall Width

Thickness of internal walls.

External Wall Width

Thickness of external walls.

Party Wall Width

Thickness of shared walls.

Note you can override these on specific elements during the heat load design.
